EMBASSY OF SWITZERLAND

CHINA BUSINESS
BRIEFING (*)

Beijing, 5 June 2003

Dear Reader,

Three years ago today, I started sending out the China Business Briefing. What was then an instrument to help me - or rather oblige me to - cope with the daily torrent of news about the Chinese economy, has remained a fairly modest and homespun affair ever since. Nevertheless the CBB has found many loyal readers - in particular outside Swiss government offices (!) - and I thank all of you who sent notes of encouragement, thanks or suggestions. In particular, I would like to express my thanks to Gérald Béroud who did a wonderful job hosting the CBB, as well as a complete archive, on his website (www.sinoptic.ch).

I will leave China by the of July to take up a new posting abroad, and my successor will have to decide, whether she or he will be able to continue with the China Business Briefing. Before I leave, I would like to up-date the list of regular subscribers and collect a tiny bit of statistics; hence I should appreciate to receive your answers to the following 3 questions:

I receive the China Business Briefing :
