DJ Delabass (Philippe Zweifel)
DJs Galoppierende Zuversicht (Roland Widmer, with Styro 2000)

Shanghai will again organise its yearly Carnival, with the first ever open-air rave party in this exciting city. The Consulate General is therefore very happy to introduce the Swiss DJs Cheesebeat , Delabass and Galoppierende Zuversicht to Shanghai.

Cheesebeat (www.cheesebeat.com) is a Swiss- and China-based Event-Label for electronic music. Swiss DJ Michael Vonplon founded it in 1998 in Beijing. In 1999 Zhang Youdai and Philippe Zweifel joined Cheesebeat. Today, Cheesebeat is China's biggest organization for electronic dance music. The main goal of Cheesebeat is a cultural exchange between China and Switzerland in the field of electronic music. Roland Widmer, aka bang goes or Galoppierende Zuversicht, one of Switzerland's finest DJs and soundcreator, joins Cheesebeat this year. He is the Resident DJ at one of Europe's most famous electro clubs, Rohstofflager, and G17 in Zürich. Bang Goes started as a DJ in 1989 and escaped for almost one year to London. By the time he came back from England, he started doing own techno and breakbeat tunes.

In August 2001, the annual Zurich Street Parade, Europe's biggest, saw a Cheesebeat-Lovemobile with Chinese decoration and Chinese DJs. The event was widely covered in Swiss and Chinese media. Last September Cheesebeat held an event in the world-famous Stone Forest near Kunming. More than 10'000 people came. During this event, Cheesebeat played video footage of the Street Parade weekend in Zurich and the Chinese vehicle. The event was called CLOUD 01.
